Match report BRETT BANEY'S marathon 7-70 and knocks of 65 and 56 respectively from Gareth Tucker and Stuart Evans were the highlight for Leverstock Green 3s who put their Division Nine survival bid on track with a thrilling last-over win at Little Berkhamsted Sahibs.

A marathon 24-over spell from Baney was nothing short of heroic, backed up by three-wicket Steve May who took Sahib's key wicket and helped wrap up the tail.

LB lost their fifth wicket on 179, chasing Levy's 208, with seven overs left, yet went at the remaining runs too hard and Green capitalised in full.

Earlier in the day, Stuart Evans - batting at number 3 - crafted a steady 56, while Tucker remained unbeaten on 65 after the pair had put on 76 for the third wicket.

Two 50-plus partnerships early in the host's reply ensured Green were far from certain winners, but Baney's herculean effort - 7 for 70 from 23.3 overs, to be precise - deserved to be the match-winning contribution when Rory Fleming pouched the tenth Sahibs wicket with three balls left.
