Match report LGCC Under-12s enjoyed a decent victory against St. Albans Girls as the rain mercifully held off for the most part at Clarence Park.

Jack Dodd was the star turn for Levy with the ball. He took a brace of wickets in his first two deliveries in recording figures of 2-3 from his couple of overs.

Salman Saleem took two wickets for five runs while Tom Rumble grabbed a smart caught-and-bowled chance in his second over.

A dismissal for skipper Arjun Odedra, one of two catches at extra cover taken by Cole Seggery, and a good run-out from Oliver Dalton made up the seven St. Albans wickets taken as the girls posted 248 in reply to Green's earlier 291.

Cole hit two maximums on his way to the inning's top score of 27. Salman opened the batting and scored 16 not out while Ben Humphreys hit seven.

Good running between Jemma Cardy and Ella Heath ensured they added some useful runs while Harry Walker can count himself unlucky to be caught at mid-off after striking a firm back-foot shot.

The Under-12s are a group who get along together so well, and enjoy their cricket in the right spirit. It was a pleasure to watch them enjoy the game. RW
