Match report A SOLID performance with both bat and ball saw LGCC Under-12s through to a 36-run win at Northchurch's picturesque ground.

It was a high-scoring game which saw the fall of only seven wickets across the two innings combined.

Ben Orriss struck four 4s on his way to an impressive innings of 19. George Hawes (12 not out) and Jemma Cardy (11 not out) showed considerable improvement with bat in hand.

Elsewhere, Harry Walker (nine) hit the shot of the night through extra cover off the back foot, and Jed Driver ignored his father's advice to play a fine sweep shot for four runs during his unbeaten six.

Ben also took three of the host's wickets to fall, all bowled thanks to three accurate overs which yielded him figures of 3-6.

Jemma claimed the other dismissal, while both George Sharman and the consistent Salman Saleem produced the best line & lengths on view from the LGCC bowling attack.

That's three wins and a tie now from six Under-12 matches played.

This Monday (June 25) sees Berkhamsted visit The Green. After a tied game at Castle Hill, it's all to play for in the return fixture. The Bovingdon home fixture - postponed at the start of the season - is still to be rearranged to complete the octet of Herts Junior League matches.
