LEVERSTOCK GREEN 3rd XI’s 235 proved more than 50 too many for Parkfield & Headstone II to chase, although the visitors never really looked like going for the target.

The 3s leadership team of skipper Mike Parkes (60 not out) and vice-captain Matt Rance (45) showed the way with the bat, while seamers Brett Baney (four) and Steve May (three) did most of the damage with the ball.

Green, though, were thwarted by a stubborn sixth-wicket stand that ultimately cost them the chance of 30 points.
