A RELATIVELY inexperienced Leverstock Green 2s lost at Old Elizabethans, finding the host’s unpredictable surface too much of a challenge having elected to bat first.
Although looking perfectly playable, the stop-start, up-and-down nature of the track, accounted for in-form silverfox Keith Glasscoe at the top of the order – and it was downhill from there to just 96 all out. Skipper Richard Walker’s nine-ball 25 was an all-too-brief respite from the constant clatter of Green wickets.
Levy never gave up the fight for wickets, though, and managed to remove five OEs batsman before the double-figure score was passed. Sam Roberts got better and better as his 14-over spell went on, returning a fine four for 40 for his efforts.
