DAYLE LITTLEJOHN'S career-best bowling figures of 7 for 34 did for mid-table Old Cholmeleians and kept alive faint hopes of survival for Leverstock Green II.

The 2s must still win their remaining two fixtures to stand any chance of avoiding a return to Division Six, after a low-scoring win over Old Cholms at The Green.

The heavens opened soona after Green were asked to bat, and as time ticked on with rain unrelenting, play looked increasingly unliekly.

However a break in the clouds saw action resumed and a match reduced to 43-37 overs. Levy's Kevin Seggery hit 47 out of a competitive target of 147-9.

Cholms wickets fell with regularity in reply, with Littlejohn finding line, length and a little movement to slice through the visitro's batting order.

Some fine catching - not least from wicketkeeper Reece Kirk and Tony Humphrey in the deep - ensured that, with chances, taken, Green were able to remove their opponents for just 59.
