Match report Tring batted first on an interesting wicket. The bowlers were rubbing their hands together in anticipation of variable bounce, particularly of the low variety. A good opening spell from Fleming 1 - 22 off 4 overs including a wicket maiden, most unusual in this format of cricket. Ably assisted by McCausland (1-9) and Lake (2-11)and some excellent ground fielding and catching ensured that Tring never quite built the score everyone knows they are capable of doing. However, Masters 47 and Partner 38 ensured they still had a very respectable 136 off 20 overs. In reply the Green made steady progress with the the focussed and very talented opener Connor Church who made 44. Alas it needed one other of the early batsman to build a partnership with Church for ultimate success, which in the end did not materialise. Harry Walters at no 5 made an excellent 29 not out to accompany Church for a while. But the gap did not close quickly enough and Tring took the points, with Patner 2 for 8 from 3 overs starring with the ball with Green finishing on 110 for 6. Green have been finding out that success is very close in every game, and the need for 2 to 3 batsman to make significant contributions in the same innings still eludes them. It won't be long before they get it right.
