Match report HOPES of a fourth consecutive win for Green 2s, the Division Five surprise package, were dashed by poor batting all round when chasing Hitchin II's get-able 260 for victory.
Stand-in skipper Walker won few popularity votes when opting to field after the dreaded win of pre-match toss.
Levy's front-line bowlers didn't deliver so it was left to Jamie Wallis - with a lung-busting 18-over spell - and Walker, with his unique brand of slow bowling, to get through the majority of the overs.
Wallis took 4-64 from his marathon effort, while Walker's 4-for made it eight in two weeks for the part-time bowler.
In reply, the regular clatter of Green wickets meant the hosts, playing on a decent Parmiter's deck so no excuses, were never in the hunt for the run chase.
Dayle Littlejohn gave his wicket away when poised for a big score on 30, while only Luke Weston should take credit of the others for a patient 26 before Hitchin helped themselves to a 100plus-run win.
It's been a great month or so for the 2s; the challenge now is can they get back to winning ways against some of the division's higher-placed teams.
