Match report RAIN brought an early end to this Readers Herts County Cup last 16 tie, but it couldn't dampen memories of two match-winning knocks for Leverstock Green, whose vastly superior run-rate saw them through to the quarter-finals.

Sam Revell's 90 and Tony Sayers' debut 89 - the pair put on 160 for the fourth wicket - both contributed heavily to Green's healthy target of 271-7 from their 50 overs.

Dave Tyson chipped in with 31 not out near the innings' end and opener Kris Jadeja (27) helped get the scoreboard ticking - but it was the middle-order pair who dovetailed superbly to put Levy in a strong position at tea.

Richard Soulsby's unbeaten 56 was the only bright spot for hosts Langleybury, who were well behind the required rate when rain persisted to wash out the last 18 overs.

Four dropped catches somewhat spoiled Levy's efforts in the field. Kris Jadeja, in particular, can count himself unlucky to see three shelled off his bowling during a luckless six-over spell.

Yet although the win - which sets up a last-eight test away to HCPL Div Two East club Letchworth Garden City - came via a superior run rate for Green, they were the tie's most likely winners throughout the 80-odd overs completed.
