Match report A game played in great spirits by both teams and great also to get back to winning ways. Redbourn opted to field first as the overnight rain had left a rather large damp patch on the track at one half, so batting was always going to be tricky form one end. We made a decent start with BK putting away anything short as delivered by the opening bowlers. Both openers contributed well BK 23 & Kochy 33. KJ once again looked in decent form as he took the game to Redbourns bolwers. His 59 included several large maximums into the left handers tree ! As the score progressed at a good pace , we also lost wickets at regular intervals. Our target was set at 200 and declare which was also made possible as Mark Landau batting at 7 also took to scoring quick runs. His 42 was good to watch with a mix of powerful shots and controlled runs. We declared after 43 overs 201 for 9. Redbourn batted with varying quality , Sandford 35 showed his class but once removed the game was pretty much decided but we still had to bowl well. Irwin showed some resistance with the odd boundary but with BK bowling well into the drying area the result was never really in doubt. Some excellent catches were held by Koch & Mazza at slip plus Clax kept well after 3 years off ! Lastly , Simo once again showed his quality of leg spin and bowled extremely well 1-29 from 10 overs. It`s such a shame that Simo & Sam have to
depart but we wish them both well and here`s hoping we see them again in the not to distant future. It`s been a pleasure to have you here guys.
