Captain Dave ‘Per Mertesacker’ Littlejohn makes it 4 wins out of 4 for the Scoobies, with an emphatic personal performance of 7-19 with the ball and 36 not out.
A somewhat gung-ho batting performance from the hosts put the Greens opening bowlers to the sword, with the Crusaders living up to their name. An overcooked selection of savoury treats were delivered by iWallis, however some fine catching from the taxi decorator Samuel Revell and our resident lemon Lee Littlejohn helped the better Wallis to 2 wickets. Cometh the hour, cometh the skipper, with a superb display of seam bowling (7-19) pegging the IPL styled hosts to 135 all out.
Fresh from the 1’s Mark ‘Local’ Landau scored a patient 17, with the top scorer for the Green being the swashbuckling BP adding a fast 40 to his tally. A sharp spell of bowling from the opposition slowed the Greens run rate and the wickets began to tumble. Steve ‘Miami, Vegas, Ibiza, Watford’ Murphy failed to trouble the scorers, but troubled the spectators with a foul mouthed tirade followed by a Plums-esque kick of a chair after some overzealous celebrations from the home team. With 30ish to win, enter the Crane to the crease. A fine partnership between the mincing Green skipper and the aptly named ‘pube head’ saw the boys home in the 43rd over. YES YES YES YES.
