LEVY GREEN 3rd XI fell just 19 runs short of Shenley Village III's 222 in a run chase which relied heavily on 57 from Stuart Evans.

Matt Lake, Karl Turner and Dan Lake all reached the 20s but the fall of wickets allowed hosts Shenley to keep Levy's chances of victory at arm's length.

Earlier in the day, Turner excelled with the ball to concede just 22 runs from 10 overs but went unrewarded with dismissals.

Lake snr picked up a couple of victims - one of which that LGGC favourite of ct. Puddle b Pond - but Village's 222-5 proved too many for Green's 203 all out.
