CRICKET WEEK 2019 (Mon Jul 22 - Fri Jul 26): Fixtures Confirmed, Evening Details To Come

15 Jul 2019

FOR those of you unfamiliar with 'Cricket Week', for decades now Leverstock Green Cricket Club stages a cricket match every day during the first week of the school holidays - known as 'Cricket Week'.

It runs from Monday to Friday inclusive, with evening fun arranged and available to all those attending after the games have finished. Typically, the activities will start around 7pm.

The bar is open from noon until late each day, as the club at the heart of its community welcomes members, family & friends for a week of cricket, drinks, laughter and (hopefully) sunshine and relaxation.

All of our opponents have now been confirmed for Cricket Week, including Friday's now traditional game between past & present LGCC players - The Liz Wood Tribute Match.

The legendary Percy Bulsara's passing in the past year is also being marked on this day, with his family in attendance to present an award named in his honour to recognise the week's outstanding bowling achievements.

The Clive Rutt Shield will once again be up for grabs on the Monday as Brian Coulshed's President's XI kick off the week looking to get one over on the team led by Club Captain Richard Walker.

On Tuesday and Wednesday, we'll welcome back Harpenden Dolphins CC and Aldenham CC respectively - joining us after their Cricket Week debuts last year.

Thursday will see St. Albans West Indian CC take the field for the seventh successive year. A day and evening not to be missed, with Drumm's caribbean food once again being cooked to perfection from mid-afternoon.

Details of evening activities - which will definitely include the annual 'Slip & Slide' for youngsters and the young at heart early in the week - will be added to the 'Cricket Week 2019' page on the club website and separately published as soon as they are confirmed.

As ever, there'll be something for everyone. We look forward to seeing you there!
