SUMMER wouldn't be summer at LGCC without our world-famous Cricket Week at The Green (Tuesday July 27 to Sunday August 1)!
Now moving towards its 50th consecutive year, this long-established festival of cricket & community is set in 2021 to start on Tuesday July 27; completing with the now annual Past Players XI v Present Players XI fixture on Sunday August 1.
Our focus is on children and families for the first two evenings, Tuesday and Wednesday, with the rest of the week having something for all ages to enjoy.
Aside from the cricket itself, we've got...
Tuesday July 27 sees the customary unfurling of the huge plastic sheeting and pitch covers to create our own unique 'Giant Slip n Slide'. Make sure your kids have got swimming gear and a change of clothes with them from around 6.30pm!
Wednesday July 28 is something new with the highly-recommended Grant of Footsie's Disco organising Footsie's Lingo Bingo for kids & families, before he mans the decks for a family-focused disco.
Thursday July 29 wouldn't be Cricket Week Thursday without Chefs Drumi, Deborah and Denise cooking up their Caribbean delights for everyone to enjoy - accompanied by the Sounds of the Islands as we move into the evening.
Friday July 30 sees DJ JT take to the decks for a full set from the later part of the evening, with some 'decathlon' fun between the two cricket teams earlier on.
'Cricket Week Saturday July 31' is effectively a regular Herts League weekend, with the 1st XI hosting Harpenden II at 12noon, however the party theme will kick in later on when a live band takes to The Green from around 7pm.
Sunday August 1 is our newly-ordaned Past Players XI v Present Players XI matchday, rounding off Cricket Week as LGCC alumni and current crop get together with their families to catch-up over a game of cricket and drinks afterwards. The Cricket Week awards will be presented around 6.30pm on this evening.

...followed by: Footsie's Family Lingo Bingo & Family Disco from 6.30pm
...and then Euro 2020 Beer Pong Championships from 8.30pm
Thursday July 29
LGCC Cricket Week XI v Hodgy's Hemel Heroes XI (1.30pm)
...followed by: Caribbean food & music. Chef Drumi & his team cooking up a storm
