WITH Autumn upon us, we've got some warming winter evenings in store at LGCC for the enjoyment of members, their families and friends.
We kick off October with our regular Monthly Quiz Night on the first Sunday, followed by a gin-tasting event on the second weekend, then live music on the following weekend - as well as all of your favourite regular activities in between at the cricket club at the heart of its community.
Here's what's ahead for October, starting with our feature events for the month...

SAT OCT 8 - 'LET THE EVENING BE GIN!': Book Now For Gin-Tasting Night At The Green
Sip Sip Hooray! What better time could there be than gin o'clock at The Green?
Join us at LGCC on Saturday October 8 from 8pm for a gin-tasting night.
Booking is essential for this one, please. It's £25 and spaces should be booked through Bar Chairman Graham Evans.

FRI OCT 14 - FRIDAY SOCIAL: Live Music With John Knowles
Join us once again for a free Friday Social event as live music returns to LGCC's clubhouse on October 14.
John Knowles will be performing live at The Green, starting around 8.30pm.
Please feel free to come along with family & friends most welcome, of course.
As this is a free event, early arrivers will always guarantee themselves the best vantage point with a choice of seating.

SUN OCT 2: Monthly Quiz Night, 8pm start
The chance to test out the old grey matter is back this month - with November and a special December Christmas edition of the LGCC Monthly Quiz Night still to come in 2022.
Teams can be made up of any number you'd like to bring, with the entry fee of £2 per person divided between winning teams and a charity of choice.
There's also Spot Prizes along the way, with the bar open from 7.30pm. Quizmaster for October is Richard Walker.

TUE OCT 4 - CHRIS LAWRANCE'S BANJO BASH: First Tuesday of every month; Bar 8.00pm, Music 8.30pm
Enjoy the delights of music played in the traditional & bluegrass way by Chris Lawrance and his collection of musical maestros from around the local area.
Some of the finest fiddlers and string pluckers in the region descend on The Green for an old-time music session once a month - and it's always worth a listen.
The gang usually get going from around 8.30pm at the latest. Come along and have a drink while you sit back and enjoy the toe-tapping sounds.

THU OCT 6 (& EVERY SECOND & FOURTH THURSDAY OF EACH MONTH) - T@THEGREEN:
Join Us For A Cuppa & A Chat - Free Community Event, All Welcome
Our community get-together continues between 10am and 12noon on every second and fourth Thursday morning of each month.
Completely free to attend and personally hosted, everyone in the local community is welcome to pop by or stay for the whole two hours; whichever is most appealing.
Have a chat with other folk from around the village and surrounding areas, or simply sit back, relax and take in the calming view across The Green from our bright and airy clubhouse facility - while enjoying a cup of tea or coffee and some light refreshments.

THU OCT 6 & WEEKLY - YOGA & RELAXATION SESSION, every Thursday; Yoga 6.30pm, Bar 8.00pm
Come along and enjoy a relaxed yoga session under the watchful eye of a qualified tutor, every Thursday evening inside the LGCC clubhouse.
Co-ordinator Glennis Taylor will be only too happy to welcome you along to a friendly group of like-minded folk.
Mats are available to use should you not possess your own, and the group often stay behind for a quick drink after the clubhouse opens to others at 8.00pm.

MON OCT 17 - DARTS: Monday Night League
With away fixtures for the first two Mondays in October, LGCC's Monday Darts team's only home fixture in October comes against The Three Tuns.
The Old Bill's Charity Darts League continues every Monday through winter months, will all fixtures posted to the club website.

FROM SUN NOV 20 TO SUN DEC 18: WORLD CUP LIVE AT LGCC
Here at The Green, we'll be showing Fifa World Cup 2022 live in the clubhouse throughout November and December.
Screening on terrestrial TV, it's a chance for folk to come together and cheer on their favourite team over a drink in the warmth of the LGCC clubhouse.
As happened for the Euros, LGCC's Management Committee will be considering how best to serve all those attending with additional screens being considered once again.
The 'Events' section of the club's website (also displayed on the homepage), and LGCC's Facebook page, will show exactly when doors will be open to show matches.
Some midweek afternoon opening will take place if mid-afternoon fixtures are of sufficient profile - and we'll be open as usual every evening.
There's likely to be some social events pinned around some England matches; details are still being finalised.
