Match report AN impressive 112 not out from Harpenden first-teamer and Chipperfield Clarendon coach Scott Galloway sealed a win for the visitors against LGCC with five balls of a high-scoring WO Fourteen14 encounter to spare.

There aren't too many occasions when a target of 170 would be overhauled with relative ease, however Galloway's clean striking - abetted by some mediocre Levy contributions with the ball and in the field - ensured that Chipps were always up with the seemingly daunting required run rate.

Green's Nahim Iqbal top-scored early on in the contest with an unbeaten 64. He built on a solid contribution from openers Lewis Koch (34) and Sol Tomlinson (26) as the hosts rattled along in the early overs only to be pegged back somewhat by the loss of three quick wickets - all falling to Chris May, who ended up with figures of 4-34 from his four eight-ball overs.

With better bowling and work in the field, Green's 170 should've been sufficient despite Galloway's undefeated century, however the home team were never really in control and slipped to what appeared an unlikely defeat at the half-way stage with some five balls of the contest still remaining.

LGCC's Midweek B XI now host Radlett in the WO Fourteen14 Shield, while LGCC Midweek A XI will have another shot at midweek success when they welcome Hemel Hempstead Town to The Green for a Heath Park Cup quarter-final tie (date tbc).
