NEVER mind the Champions League football final, it was the Beer Pong Champions League competition that had Saturday night revellers enthralled at The Green.

New to the club, 'Big John' Mathew has burst onto the scene with his enthusiasm for his cricket and engaging nature - and now he holds a a Beer Pong title to boot.

Partnered by 1s skipper Dayle Littlejohn, the pair made light work of their opponents to defeat Dave Cardy & Nick Merrett by three cups in a late-night final which withstood several interruptions from singing spectators.

Congratulations to the boys on their win, after overcoming a 12-pair field.
