HERE'S a one-stop click for all of LGCC's key events during December.
Summarised initially, with full details further down the page, it's your guide to entertainment and social events at The Green during the festive season.
The below message details events taking place through December that are either special versions of regular events or Yuletide-only events.
Would those who organise and participate in regular weekly and monthly activities please excuse their good work not being detailed in this email. Regulars - such as Monday & Wednesday darts, Tuesday (first one in the month) Banjo Bash and Thursday Yoga continue as usual, with dates and other relevant details marked within the 'Events' section of the LGCC website. They'll also be highlighted individually or as part of regular 'What's On' emails.
The club is keen to offer its usual warm welcome to all members, their families and friends throughout the festive season and beyond. Hopefully there's something for everyone below...
Saturday December 7 - from 7.30pm:
BIG FIGHT BINGO NIGHT (Cash Prize Bingo & AJ-Ruiz Boxing)
Has anyone ever combined bingo and boxing before? Unlikely, but we reckon it's a combination that's got something for everyone - and we want to raise a load of money for our 'Bar 2020 Vision' (bar refurb) project, so it's all for a great cause!
From 7.30pm: Cash Prize Bingo: £10-£20 entry per person. We'll be offering some serious cash prizes if we can get a packed house here. Bingo's back in vogue with oldsters & youngsters alike, so get along for some fast-paced fun as you use your dabbers (provided) to mark off the numbers on the cards and vie to be first to a line or a full house. We'll split the entry money strictly 50/50 and we'll have a free warm-up game first, so that bingo novices get a chance to get the hang of it.
From 10.00pm (approx): Ring walk - Joshua v Ruiz II: The Bingo will stop as soon as the boxing begins. LGCC is paying a hefty commercial rate (a lot more than the domestic £20+!) to screen the Big Fight so that all those attending the evening and helping to raise funds for Bar 2020 Vision can enjoy watching Anthony Joshua bid to win the world titles back he lost to Andy Ruiz jnr. Ring walk in the Middle East is set for 10.00pm GMT, so we'll be keeping a close eye on the build-up throughout the night.
Unlike previous Race Night versions of our hugely popular 'Big Fight' events, no tickets are being issued for this one, but the advice is to arrive early - ideally as near as possible to the clubhouse & bar opening time of 7.00pm, because we're expecting a busy clubhouse.
Saturday December 21 - from 7.30pm:
CHRISTMAS PARTY NIGHT (plus. LGCC BEER FESTIVAL from 12noon onwards)
If you can combine Bingo & Boxing, then you can make a Christmas Party and a Beer Festival work as well, right!?
We'll have a disco playing favourite party tunes throughout the night, with requests very much to the fore and yet, for those who'd rather drink than dance, there will be a mini-beer festival - bringing to LGCC many local favourites for everyone to try on the evening.
And in fact, the beer will be flowing all afternoon with early opening at lunchtime for the Beer Festival - which will include the following delights:
+ Scotland: Windswept - Hurricane
+ North-East: Cullercoats - Shuggy Boat Blond
+ South-West: Exe Valley - Friar's Thirst
+ Midlands: Everards - Tiger
+ Wales: Brain's - Rev. James Original
+ South-East: Old Dairy: Coopers Top
+ Local: Tring - Christmas Cracker
It'll be £1.50 for half-pints, or 10 tokens for £12 if you're in for a good session.
This non-ticketed event is open to all LGCC members, their family and friends to party away on the last weekend before Christmas Day itself.
Sunday December 22 - from 2.30pm onwards:
FATHER CHRISTMAS VISITS LGCC
Among his many other seasonal stop-off points, Santa Claus knows that no round of Christmas deliveries of gifts would be complete without an LGCC stop-off.
By his own estimations, he suggests children of LGCC members' families - accompanied by their parents / guardians, of course - should make their way to the clubhouse during the early afternoon of Sunday December 22.
There will be a gift for every child that comes along to see Father Christmas, on an afternoon when all members of the family are very welcome to join in with the season of goodwill.
Tuesday December 24 - from 8.00pm:
CHRISTMAS EVE AT THE GREEN (with the 'Darker Side of Christmas' (from late))
Experience a special Yuletide tribute when long-standing LGCC member Kim Darker takes centre-stage with his own unique brand of entertainment during what's always a very busy Christmas Eve at The Green.
Join us any time during the evening and, at some point getting towards midnight, you'll be able to enjoy 'The Darker Side Of Christmas'!
Tuesday December 31 - from 8.00pm:
NEW YEAR'S EVE PARTY - with live entertainment by singer & DJ Riccardo

LGCC will be seeing the New Year in in fine style with live entertainment from the fabulously-talented Riccardo.
Riccardo has entertained LGCC members, family & friends before at The Green and his mix of live vocals across the first two hours of the evening, followed by his DJ skills later into the night, will ensure everyone gets to see 2020 in the best possible fashion.
As is always the case for New Year's, the clubhouse will be packed to capacity and so entry on the evening will be courtesy of advance ticket purchases only.
LGCC members Mike Darke and Sandra Molloy are the contacts for tickets, which are priced at just £10 per person. Mike & Sandra will be in the clubhouse this Sunday, November 17, while Mike can also be contacted on 07746 215850 to arrange sales.
Please note that, due to the demand for tickets, block bookings or informal reservations may not be made and tickets for the event will only be guaranteed upon immediate payment.
