It's nearly Christmas time, and it's nearly World Cup 2022 - a combination we've never seen before, so we're thankful to regular groups for their flexibility in allowing us to show as many games as possible, especially during evenings when we'll open at the earlier time of 7.00pm throughout the tournament.
As you know this relies heavily on our volunteer bar staff group, so thanks in advance to them for extra commitment to allow LGCC members & guests to enjoy the games in our cosy clubhouse over a few drinks.
Sunday's opening ceremony & game will be quickly followed by afternoon opening for the England game, a 1pm kick-off.
Our Facebook page will be updated regularly to confirm exactly which games we'll show, with the clubhouse bar evening opening time shunting forward to 7.00pm during the World Cup for those wishing to take in the late kick-offs.

MON NOV 21: World Cup Live At LGCC - England v Iran (1pm)
LGCC's doors will be open and our welcome warm as Day 2 of the Fifa World Cup starts with England v Iran at 1pm.
Then it's Senegal v Netherlands (4pm) from Group A, followed by Wales v USA in England's Group B (7pm).
A chance to cheer on England with fellow members & guests in our cosy clubhouse at The Green.

FRIDAY SOCIAL - FRI NOV 25, from 6pm: World Cup Bingo Night Special!
Nothing goes together better than the World Cup and Bingo, right?
From 6pm: Fun Prize Bingo for children before the football starts
From 7pm: England v USA, World Cup Group B
From 9pm: Cash Prize Bingo (raising funds for the bar refurb)

SAT DEC 3: World Cup Live (from 3pm) & Big Fight Live At LGCC - Fury v Chisora (from 9.30pm)
To save you paying BT Sport to see Tyson Fury's latest World Heavyweight Title defence, we're showing it and hoping to be rewarded with a bumper-sized attendance.
It's a day which will start at 3pm with the first of the World Cup's Round of 16 knockout matches; England will play in this game if they finish second in Group B.
There's a second last 16 tie at 7pm before our screens switch to the boxing from 9.30pm, with ring walks slated for 10.00pm.
A cracking day's sport, all of it live at LGCC!

TUE DEC 6: Chris Lawrance's Christmas Banjo Bash (8.30pm)
Enjoy a festive special variant of the monthly medley of traditional & bluegrass numbers delivered by Chris Lawrance and his collection of musical maestros from around the local area.
Some of the finest fiddlers and string pluckers in the region descend on The Green for an old-time music session once a month - and it's always worth a listen. December will see some festive favourites included in the second half of the group's tunes.
The gang usually get going from around 8.30pm at the latest. Come along and have a drink while you sit back and enjoy the toe-tapping sounds.

SAT DEC 10: Christmas Fayre (10am-2pm), Santa's Visit (from 12noon)
A delightful combination for a festive Saturday; some great gift ideas and gift-giving for LGCC kids from Father Christmas.
First explore the many stalls which will be set up inside the LGCC clubhouse from 10am, offering the chance to purchase locally sourced & made Christmas gifts - with tea & coffee and light refreshments available throughout the morning.
From 12noon, juniors connected to LGCC families are invited to meet Santa and receive a Christmas gift.

SUN DEC 11: Monthly Quiz Night - Christmas Special, 7.45pm start
The last monthly Quiz Night of the year will once again have a Christmas theme to it!
Usually held on the first Sunday each month, this one has been put back to avoid any potential clash with World Cup screenings.
Hosted by Richard Walker as Quizmaster, expect a fun-filled and informal evening with cash prizes to the winning table as well as spot prizes during the night.
Teams can be made up of any number you'd like to bring, with the entry fee of £2 per person divided between winning teams.
LGCC members and their guests are very welcome, with no advance booking required.

CHRISTMAS FRIDAY SOCIAL - FRI DEC 16: LGCC Xmas Party with live music from 'Undercover'
They're a big hit are 'Undercover' with LGCC's members - so it's great news that they're back to play live for us at the club's Christmas Party on the evening of Friday December 16.
Put this one in your diary as it'll be a knockout evening to take us all into Christmas week in great spirits.
Advance booking is not required for this evening. We'll be happy to see plenty of LGCC members & guests on the night!

Join us on Christmas Eve as Kim Darker enlightens and entertains during what's become an annual tradition at The Green as we see ourselves into Christmas Day, full of festive cheer!

SAT DEC 31: New Year's Eve Party - with DJ Lewis
Always a massively popular evening at LGCC, this event will be admission by pre-booked ticket only.
DJ Lewis, who's played at The Green before to excellent reviews, will be spinning the discs with a rich mixture of genres and styles; certainly something for everyone as we see our way into 2023!
