THE latest What's On information for LGCC...

As we move out of the depths of winter and toward sunnier times, here's what we've got going on at LGCC across the next month and beyond.

(Cricket players & parents / guardians should note there will be separate specific communications in due course, detailing outdoor training dates and league fixture schedules along with other cricket-related matters)

FRIDAY SOCIAL - FRI FEB 24: MacMillan Charity Quiz Night
Thanks to everyone who's taken a table for tonight's Quiz Night in aid of an excellent cause.

The club's gratitude is also extend to organiser Gloria Odell, who has run the event for many years.

We hope you all have a thoroughly enjoyable evening.

SAT FEB 25: SIX NATIONS LIVE AT LGCC - WALES v ENGLAND (4.45pm)
LGCC's doors will be open from 4.00pm tomorrow (Sat Feb 25) afternoon and we're looking forward to welcoming you as England travel to Wales in the Guinness Six Nations 2023 tournament.

Come and join us for a pint or two and watch the game on the clubhouse big screens, as LGCC continues with some occasional winter Saturday afternoon openings.

SUN MAR 5: Monthly Quiz Night, 7.45pm start
LGCC's Monthly Quiz Night is next to be held on Sunday March 5.

Teams can be made up of any number you'd like to bring, with the entry fee of £2 per person divided between the top performers.

It's a very fun, informal evening, nothing too heavy - but enough to get you thinking. New players are always very welcome, whether forming a full team or simply coming along and joining in with others.

There's also a Spot Prize or two along the way, with the bar open from around 7.00pm.

Quizmaster for March is Richard Walker.

TUE MAR 7 - CHRIS LAWRANCE'S BANJO BASH: First Tuesday of every month; Bar 8.00pm, Music 8.30pm
Enjoy the delights of music played in the traditional & bluegrass way by Chris Lawrance and his collection of musical maestros from around the local area.

Some of the finest fiddlers and string pluckers in the region descend on The Green for an old-time music session once a month - and it's always worth a listen.

The gang usually get going from around 8.30pm at the latest. Come along and have a drink while you sit back and enjoy the toe-tapping sounds.

THU MAR 9 & THU MAR 23 (THEN EVERY SECOND & FOURTH THURSDAY OF EACH MONTH) - T@THEGREEN:
Join Us For A Cuppa & A Chat - Free Community Event, All Welcome
The fantastic community-focused fixture that is T@TheGreen continues into 2023, having passed its first 100 sessions late last year.

Our community get-together continues between 10am and 12noon on every second and fourth Thursday morning of each month.

Completely free to attend and personally hosted, everyone in the local community is welcome to pop by or stay for the whole two hours; whichever is most appealing.

Have a chat with other folk from around the village and surrounding areas, or simply sit back, relax and take in the calming view across The Green from our bright and airy clubhouse facility - while enjoying a cup of tea or coffee and some light refreshments.

FRIDAY SOCIAL - FRI MAR 10, from 8.30pm: Live Music with 'The Swing Pins'
Returning to LGCC by popular demand are the duo of Dan McClelland and Danny Shackell - better known as 'The Swing Pins'.

Their vocals cover swing and Rat Pack numbers so there'll be something for everyone to enjoy during another great live entertainment event at LGCC.

We look forward to seeing you at The Green for another free evening's live music, as we continue another busy year of events and entertainment.

EVERY THURSDAY - YOGA & RELAXATION SESSION: Yoga 6.30pm, Bar 8.00pm
Come along and enjoy a relaxed yoga session under the watchful eye of a qualified tutor, every Thursday evening inside the LGCC clubhouse.

Co-ordinator Glennis Taylor will be only too happy to welcome you along to a friendly group of like-minded folk.

Mats are available to use should you not possess your own, and the group often stay behind for a quick drink after the clubhouse opens to others at 8.00pm.

MONDAY & WEDNESDAY EVENINGS: Darts Teams
Winter darts action is broadly over for the current season, with thoughts now turning to Summer Leagues ahead.

Regular practise sessions will continue at LGCC, so to get involved and find out more please contact Darts Secretary Roy Makins on 07312 080302.
