LGCC WHAT'S ON - JUL & EARLY AUG: Paella & Live Music From 'Pip In Boots', Cricket Week & More...

25 Jun 2023

JULY is synonymous with our world-famous 'Cricket Week' here at LGCC (Tue Jul 25 to Sun Jul 30), however there's plenty else going on to accompany those perfect warm summer evenings enjoyed outside with our stunning sunset views here at The Green.

Below we've set out the events that aren't Cricket Week, including a Paella & Live Music Night on Saturday July 8.

Cricket Week details will be sent via a separate, specific email, so you've all go the day-by-day run-down - but, save to say, it's set to be a cracker again!

So here's what's coming up across the next month or so at The Green....

+ Sun Jul 2: Monthly Quiz Night
+ Tue Jul 4: Banjo Bash
+ Sat Jul 8: Paella Evening & Live Music
+ Tue Jul 25 to Sun Jul 30: Cricket Week 2023!

Continuing in its regular first-Sunday-of-the-month slot, you're welcome once again to Leverstock Green's Monthly Quiz Night.

Starting at 7.45pm, with the clubhouse and bar open from around 7.00pm, it's time to put those thinking caps for a mix of different rounds with nothing too intellectually heavyweight or off-putting.

Quiz teams can be formed of any number you'd like to bring. The entry fee of £2 per person is divided between the top performers. New players are always very welcome - either as a whole team, or as individuals joining others.

TUE JUL 4 - CHRIS LAWRANCE'S BANJO BASH: First Tuesday of every month; Bar 8.00pm, Music 8.30pm
Enjoy the delights of music played in the traditional & bluegrass way by Chris Lawrance and his collection of musical maestros from around the local area.

Some of the finest fiddlers and string pluckers in the region descend on The Green for an old-time music session once a month - and it's always worth a listen.

The gang usually get going from around 8.30pm at the latest. Come along and have a drink while you sit back and enjoy the toe-tapping sounds.

SAT JUL 8 - SATURDAY SOCAL AT LGCC: Paella Evening, follwed by live music from 'Pip In Boots'
It's a double-bill of Saturday Social after the cricket on The Green with delicious paella cooked in the traditional style followed by live music from 'Pip In Boots'.

Cooked in the traditional way by our very own masterchef Keeley Downes, the paella will be available soon after the end of the Herts League cricket action - at around 6.30pm or thereabouts - with a small charge asked for to cover costs, please.

Later, it's live music from female-fronted three-piece covers band 'Pip In Boots'. They'll be playing all your favourites from the 60s right up to the 00s and beyond.

So a double delight for fans of food and live music here at LGCC on Saturday July 8.

Join Us For A Cuppa & A Chat - Free Community Event, All Welcome

The fantastic community-focused fixture that is T@TheGreen continues into the summer months here at LGCC.

Our community get-together,  between 10am and 12noon on every second and fourth Thursday morning of each month, is a chance for folk to simply pop into the clubhouse for a cup of tea or coffee and have a chat with other local people - some of whom may really appreciate the chance to spend time in the company of like-minded others.

Completely free to attend and personally hosted, everyone in the local community is welcome to pop by or stay for the whole two hours; whichever is most appealing.

Have a chat with other folk from around the village and surrounding areas, or simply sit back, relax and take in the calming view across The Green from our bright and airy clubhouse facility - while enjoying a cup of tea or coffee and some light refreshments.

There'll be a modest cash charge to enter, please, with cards and bingo dabbers available on the evening itself. Cash prizes will be on offer to the lucky winners.

Eyes down from around 8.30pm!
