BEFORE detailing August events here at The Green, the LGCC Management Committee would like to thank all members for supporting the club during another fun-packed Cricket Week.
The weather was a lot kinder than forecast for cricket, and it meant we were able to enjoy the company of many hundreds of you at The Green for both the sporting action and some fun, drinks and live music long into the evenings.
Let's do it all again next year! Cricket Week 2024 will begin on Tuesday July 23, so please block it out in your diaries!

Enjoy the delights of music played in the traditional & bluegrass way by Chris Lawrance and his collection of musical maestros from around the local area.
Some of the finest fiddlers and string pluckers in the region descend on The Green for an old-time music session once a month - and it's always worth a listen.
The gang usually get going from around 8.30pm at the latest. Come along and have a drink while you sit back and enjoy the toe-tapping sounds.

SUN AUG 6 - MONTHLY QUIZ NIGHT
Continuing in its regular first-Sunday-of-the-month slot, you're welcome once again to Leverstock Green's Monthly Quiz Night.
Starting at 7.45pm, with the clubhouse and bar open from around 7.00pm, it's time to put those thinking caps for a mix of different rounds with nothing too intellectually heavyweight or off-putting.
Quiz teams can be formed of any number you'd like to bring. The entry fee of £2 per person is divided between the top performers. New players are always very welcome - either as a whole team, or as individuals joining others.
This Sunday's quizmaster is regular participant Neil Shankland; putting down his answering pencil to pick up the microphone and ask the questions.

THU AUG 10 & THU AUG 24 (THEN EVERY SECOND & FOURTH THURSDAY OF EACH MONTH) - T@THEGREEN: Join Us For A Cuppa & A Chat - Free Community Event, All Welcome
The fantastic community-focused fixture that is T@TheGreen continues into the summer months here at LGCC.
Our community get-together, between 10am and 12noon on every second and fourth Thursday morning of each month, is a chance for folk to simply pop into the clubhouse for a cup of tea or coffee and have a chat with other local people - some of whom may really appreciate the chance to spend time in the company of like-minded others.
Completely free to attend and personally hosted, everyone in the local community is welcome to pop by or stay for the whole two hours; whichever is most appealing.
Have a chat with other folk from around the village and surrounding areas, or simply sit back, relax and take in the calming view across The Green from our bright and airy clubhouse facility - while enjoying a cup of tea or coffee and some light refreshments.
Thanks to the T@TheGreen crew for giving way during Cricket Week, to allow food preparation on the morning of 'Caribbean Day'.

SAT AUG 12 - SATURDAY SOCAL AT LGCC: Live Music from 'Uptown Funk'
'Uptown Funk UK' will be playing live for us once again at The Green - we're delighted to confirm.
LGCC members are warmly invited to bring family & friends along for another evening of top-class music at the cricket club at the heart of its community.
Back by popular demand after a packed LGCC clubhouse boogied away to them on a rainy Saturday May 6 earlier this year, 'Uptown Funk UK' will be playing live inside the LGCC clubhouse on Saturday August 12!
Covering a mix of hits from the funk / soul / Motown genre, it's upbeat boogie-woogie music all the way from the talented band.
They'll be on around 8-8.30pm, so plenty of time to charge your glasses at the bar after the Herts League cricket action finishes at The Green that day.
So get, get down to LGCC and we'll see you on August 12, Funkers!
