MON MAR 4 - ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
LGCC's Management Committee wishes to invite all members to tonight's 2023 AGM, moved back from its usual January slot due to the recent bar refurbishment.

The clubhouse will open around 7pm on Monday March 4, with the Annual General Meeting set for a 8.00pm start.

It's your chance to hear a review of the year just ended from club officials, and also ask any questions you may have of the committee - as well as put your name forward for any of the volunteer positions, should you wish to give more time toward LGCC's future wellbeing.

Why not come and see the new-look bar, while meeting fellow LGCC members for a chat.

We look forward to welcoming you all.

TUE MAR 5 & EVERY TUESDAY IN FEBRUARY - TAI CHI (QIGONG) SESSIONS: 10.30am to 11.30am
Targeted especially at senior members, enjoy something quite different at LGCC, as local instructor Fiona Walsh leads you through two free taster sessions of Tai Chi (Qigong).

These are gentle, strengthening easy movements which are perfect for beginners. Even better, you can stand or sit - as preferred - while taking part.

There's no need to book. Simply come along on a Tuesday morning, with £5 payable upon arrival.

Give it a try. Many have and already really enjoying it.

TUE MAR 5 - CHRIS'S BANJO BASH: Bar 8.00pm, Music 8.15pm
Enjoy the foot-tapping sounds of bluegrass and old-time music courtesy of Chris Lawrance and his gang of maestros.

The monthly Banjo Bash takes place every first Tuesday of the calendar month, with instruments strumming from around 8.15pm.

The bar is open for you to enjoy a drink while listening to a group of talented musicians keep some really traditional sounds alive - sure to put a smile on your face.

THU MAR 7 & EVERY THURSDAY - YOGA & RELAXATION SESSION: Yoga 6.30pm, Bar 8.00pm
Come along and enjoy a relaxed yoga session under the watchful eye of a qualified tutor, every Thursday evening inside the LGCC clubhouse.

Mats are available to use should you not possess your own, and the group often stay behind for a quick drink after the clubhouse opens to others at 8.00pm.

Co-ordinator Glennis Taylor will be only too happy to welcome you along to a friendly group of like-minded folk. Please contact her for more information on 07778 797475.

THU MAR 14 & THU MAR 28 (every second & fourth Thursday of the month) - T@THEGREEN: Join Us For A Cuppa & A Chat - Free Community Event, All Welcome
T@TheGreen is back with a March double, on both Thursday 14th and Thursday 28th.

As LGCC's fantastic community-led and community-focused fixture Tea@TheGreen continues into 2024, it's over two years now that local people - some of whom may really appreciate the chance to spend time in the company of like-minded others - have been able to gather between 10.00am and 12noon twice a month for a cuppa and a chat.

Completely free to attend and personally hosted, everyone in the local community is welcome to pop by or stay for the whole two hours; whichever is most appealing.

Have a chat with other folk from around the village and surrounding areas, or simply sit back, relax and take in the calming view across The Green from our bright and airy clubhouse facility - while enjoying a cup of tea or coffee and some light refreshments.

We're now taking expressions of interest for...
FRI MAR 22 - FRIDAY SOCIAL: Poker Night At LGCC

We're keen to explore interest among members and their friends for a fun evening of Poker at The Green.

Further details about format and start time to follow, should the evening gain sufficient traction.

SAT MAR 23, 8.30PM - SATURDAY SOCIAL AT LGCC: Live Music from The Silver Searchers
Continuing our free-to-access live music gigs at The Green, The Silver Searchers will be playing at LGCC's clubhouse on the evening of Saturday March 23.

A Merseyside & Swinging Sixties band with a very strong reputation around the country, the band will be live from around 8.30pm.

LGCC members should feel welcome to bring guests along as the club is once again proud to present more live music free of charge.

SUN APR 7 - MONTHLY GENERAL KNOWLEDGE QUIZ NIGHT
It's thinking caps on time every first Sunday of the calendar month - and we'll be ready to welcome you for the latest monthly quiz night on March 3.

The clubhouse usually opens between 7pm and 7.15pm, with the aim to start between 7.30pm and 7.45pm.

The quizzes are set and designed to be quite informal and not too heavyweight; so they should appeal to a broad church among the LGCC membership.

Quiz teams can be formed of any number you'd like to bring. The entry fee of £2 per person is divided between the top performers. New participants are always very welcome - either as a whole team, or as individuals joining others.

Richard Walker is April's quizmaster and, as stated, the emphasis is on fun - nothing too intellectual and a few laughs guaranteed. See you there!
