HERTS LEAGUE ROUND-UP: 2s In 3

07 Jun 2014

DAYLE LITTLEJOHN'S 2nd XI made it three wins from their three games played, this one in fine style by four wickets at home to Wormley.

Imran Iqbal charged up the Bedmond Road slope to take 6-42 from 21.3 overs, reducing the visitors from a strong position with just two wickets down to 122 all out.

Opener Ben Parkes hit 51 in reply, forming the basis of a solid run chase from the 2s, however only Sam Revell (23) scored significantly as Green lost six wickets in reaching Wormley's target.

Teenage seamer Chrishan Casey took 5-30 for Green 3rd XI to help restrict Greenwood Park to 145, however the 3s' batting woes continued with only skipper Gareth Tucker (24) reaching any kind of score as they were skittled out for 81 in reply.

Dave Tyson's 1st XI fell to their first defeat of their Herts League campaign at St. Albans West Indian.

The hosts posted 140 on a damp track with Brad Klosterman and Lewis Koch among the wickets, however Green's batting fell below its best as they were removed for less than three figures.

The 4s were left frustrated after a morning's rainfall accounted for their game against Watford Town V without a ball being bowled.

Club Captain's Saturday Star Man:
Close call with Imran's 6-for & Ben Parkes' 50 in the 2s, but this week it's Chrishan Casey with 5-30 in the 3rd XI.
