A FIRST Leverstock Green century for overseas player Marc Simonds (pictured) in the 1s and Dayle Littlejohn's stellar individual performance with both bat & ball for the 2s were the big highlights from a day full of positives as LGCC racked up a maximum 120 Herts League points on Saturday June 14.
Opener Lewis Koch made a stylish 54 and Nick Merrett 50 not out - during a three-figure stand with Simonds - as Levy 1s racked up 235-6 from 46 overs during a 58-run win over Wheathampstead.
Brad Klosterman was back to something like top form with the ball, taking 6-47 from his 21 overs, although the individual bowling highlight was Simonds' removal of the visitor's key batsman with his patented wrong 'un.
Skipper Dave Tyson stole the last two wickets to put Green among the Division Two front-runners as they head to high-flying Hemel Town 2s this weekend at Heath Park.

SECOND XI captain Dayle Littlejohn took seven wickets for just 19 runs and made 36 not out to carry his side to a fourth Division Five win, maintaining their 100 per cent record.
Levy 2s have fielded first in all games so far this summer, and again the opposition - this time Hatfield & Crusaders II - couldn't get away. Pegged back to 135, Green's batting line-up suggested another regulation run chase.
But far from it. Aside from Ben Parkes' 40 and smaller contributions by Mark Landau and Keith Glasscoe, it took resistance from No. 6 Littlejohn - ably supported by No. 10 Sam Roberts, with a stoic 5 not out - to see the team home for a two-wicket triumph.

GRAHAM EVANS (37), Jamie Wallis (30) and a mid-innings splash of 50 runs between Matt 'Pond' Lake and Dan 'Puddle' Lake provided Levy 3s with by some margin their biggest score of the season so far: 193-7 declared away to Luton Town & Indians IV.
The target proved 78 runs too many for the hosts to chase down. Skipper Brett Baney took 4-23 while all of the other five bowlers used picked up at least one dismissal each.
Neil Fleming rolled back the years with a stunning slip catch, Lake the elder broke through with a quicker ball and Baney finished things off by removing the tail-ender's off stump.

MARK PEARSON'S 4th XI were the first team with 30 points in the bag when Berkhamsted IV conceded on Tuesday evening - so they took the chance to play a friendly away at Denham.
Youngster Lewis Glasscoe starred with both bat - 24 - and ball - 2 for 29 - while there was also two wickets for Dom Clarke.
Earlier, veterans Mike Parkes (22) and skipper Pearson (27) helped Green reach 147, a total chased down by Denham with only two wickets in hand.

Club Captain's Saturday Star Man:
A great ton from Simmo, but for a match-winning performance it has to be 2s skipper
Dayle Littlejohn, with 7-19 and 36 not out.
