ALTHOUGH disappointed not to snare Hoddesdon’s final wicket last weekend, Leverstock Green’s 19 bonus points would have come as some consolation as their visitors went top of the table after a high-scoring draw.
After skipper Sam Mazurek chose to bat first, Green posted a decent 224 all out – but at 34 for three it could have been a vastly different story.
But for the second consecutive Saturday, Dayle Littlejohn showed terrific resolve in compiling 59. He was out-scored, if not out-played by 89 from number five Nick Merrett as Levy added 137 for the fourth wicket. Brad Klosterman’s useful 23 helped the score up to a challenging target.
At 153 for three, the visitor’s reply was going nicely, but Klosterman’s four for 70 from 20 overs helped leave Hoddesdon clinging on for a draw to close on 203 for nine.
