DESPITE making 180 for six from 47 overs, Leverstock Green second XI were left still 60 short of St. Albans West Indian’s target of 240 for eight at Greenwood Park.
Both sides had to settle for a draw, with Green struggling to score runs at any pace due to the host’s somewhat overly-defensive tactics in the field. There were plenty of positives for Levy, however, with teenager Ben Parkes hitting 58 in a stand of 128 with wicketkeeper Steve Murphy, who remained unbeaten on 60.
Imran Iqbal took four expensive wickets for Green earlier in the day, although it was Sam Roberts to once again impress with the ball – largely unrewarded with just one dismissal from 18 overs of toil.
