AFTER weeks of putting up big totals, Leverstock Green 3s came a cropper at home to strugglers Elstree, going down by some 131 runs.
Elstree elected to bat first and posted a giant 287 for four, largely the work of opener Hazell who made Green’s bowlers sweat in the heat with an unbeaten 181.
The tale of Levy’s reply was the fact that number nine Keith Flitton top-scored with 32, part of a ninth-wicket 55-run stand of defiance with teenager Oli Sawyer. Green were dismissed for 156, with only openers Matt Rance (24) and Chris Murton (25) getting away to at least a start.
