LEVERSTOCK GREEN came away with 10 bonus points from Hitchin – a far better return than they could have imagined with only 90 runs on the board with nine wickets down.

But a scintillating cameo from big-hitting number 11 Majid Khan, who rattled up 47 off 35 balls, and some dogged support from Steve Murphy (30 not out) ensured there was at least 144 on the board as a target.

Hitchin lost eight wickets in scraping to victory, off-spinner Dave Tyson’s 5-34 coming amid a collapse which saw four consecutive ducks on the host’s scorecard.
