SAM ROBERTS was the hero for Leverstock Green II, taking 4-32 from 20 overs as Leverstock Green II put a dismal batting display behind them to somehow fashion an 11-run win at home to Parkfield & Headstone in Division Five.

Inserted at Bedmond Road, 25 was the top Levy score with the bat - recorded by both Tony Humphrey and Pradeep Basthian Koralage - as the hosts crumbled to 125 all out.

And with Parkfield at 94 for four, Green's chances of victory seemed to be quickly slipping away. However teenager Tom Callingham's one over yielded the key wicket of all-rounder Ian Schmid who holed out to square leg, and from then on Roberts and fellow seamer Steve May (4-31) set about picking off the visitor's lower order to record a remarkable victory.

The final six Headstone wickets fell for just 20 runs and, fittingly, the last of those to Roberts whose herculean effort was rewarded with a vital 30 points for his team.
