CHORLEYWOOD II came out on top after an enthralling Division Five encounter at Leverstock Green II - experienced Chris Tweedie (77) the star with the bat for Wood as the visitors amassed a target of 208-7.

Brad Klosterman wheeled away for 26 overs to claim 4-77 but some loose bowling elsewhere and Tweedie's unusually diligent innings ensured a score that Green would find 36 too many.

The host's reply with the bat faltered after a strong start, which included 29 from opener Klosterman, thanks largely to a five-wicket spell from veteran left-armer Russell Hodgkinson.

It wasn't until Reece Kirk came in, at number eight, that Green's albeit faint hopes were somewhat revived. The wicketkeeper struck a fine 61, during which he shared a 54-run ninth-wicket stand with teenager Matthew Lake (19), before finally falling to complete Wood's win.
