BENTLEY HEATH II’S target of 185 for five might have seemed a little too large to chase for Leverstock Green IV, however Mark Pearson’s side were pleased to keep the total to under 200 initially – before saving a draw having had a good go at chasing it.

Pearson himself was the star turn with the ball, snaring three Heath victims from six overs of his specialist slow bowling as he celebrated his 50th birthday in style.

Brett Sammels hit 36 and Chris Dowling 23 as Green’s chase offered hope initially, but lower-order wickets lost meant they ended on 136 for nine.
