Leverstock Green lost a thrilling encounter with Radlett II which swung this way and that, with the visitors eventually getting over the line - but Leverstock Green picking up just enough bonus points to maintain their position atop Division 2A of the Herts League.

With heavy overnight rain, the toss always looked likely to be crucial, and so it proved, as the visitors opted to bowl first. LGCC were quickly in trouble as seamer Ross Carpenter first bowled Koch with one that nipped back in for 0, and then the same bowler trapped Barnard LBW for 1.

Dayle Littlejohn and Kris Jadeja rebuilt, with Jadeja in particular very fluent given the tough conditions. He raced through to 47 before edging Barrett behind. Nick Merrett followed in similar fashion next ball, the edge going to slip this time.

Ajit Kumar and Littlejohn put on 30 before Kumar's entertaining cameo was ended by Barrett, the catch going to Mick Lee. Mark Landau felt cheaply to left-arm spinner Sim Cohen, before Littlejohn's long vigil was ended by Barrett on 36. Dave Tyson skied Cohen to McDowell, and the end came relatively swiftly with Majid Khan and Imran Iqbal going for 5 and 6 respectively.

In reply LGCC picked up a very early wicket, Cook edging Majid Khan to 3rd slip where Kris Jadeja held on at the third attempt.

Noah Lipschitz batted fluently, driving the ball very sweetly, and it wasn't until 47 were on the board that the Green struck again, McDowell edging Dayle Littlejohn through to Dave Tyson at slip for 13. The same bowler then had Lipschitz LBW for 42, before bowling the left-hander Neil Malde with a peach of a delivery that nipped back to take off stump for 35.

With Mandamulah caught behind by Barnard in the same over and Radlett at 100-5 the game looked very much on. A brilliant bit of fielding from Lewis Koch at point saw Mughal run out, LGCC now looked like favourites, but a partnership of 38 between Lee and Barrett took the score to 144.

There was still time for a little drama, with Majid Khan trapping Lee LBW for 20 with 9 needed, and then Sim Cohen surviving a vociferous caught behind appeal.

Chances were being fashioned as a couple of catches went begging, but Radlett eventually rushed through to their target with two sixes from Barrett.
