Match report LEVERSTOCK GREEN kicked off summer 2015 with what proved to be a thrilling T20 finish against Shropshire tourers Cound CC at The Green.

Cound opener Trow's 55 and 33 from No. 3 Jones set the visitors - who stayed long into the night to enjoy an evening of LGCC beers, fun and song - well on their way to a useful 128 from their 14 eight-ball overs.

Teenage leg-spinner Wasim Saleem was the pick of the Green bowling with three wickets, while new overseas arrival Miles Barnard also claimed three victims in his single over as the ball was shared around.

In reply, Levy didn't look like offering much of a reply at 20 for 5, but skipper Richard Walker (37) and new signing Ali Khan (45 not out) stayed together through the rest of the innings to close in on what seemed an unlikely target.

The pair whittled the runs required down to 18 off the last over and, finally, six off the last ball to tie. After a wide, a chance of victory was presented, but Walker couldn't convert leaving Cound winners by five runs.

Everyone at LGCC would like to wish Cound CC all the best for their Shropshire League season ahead. They were a fabulous bunch of guys and we hope to return serve with a tour in late September this year.
