Match report A SCRAMBLED last-ball bye run by Salman Saleem and skipper Oliver Dalton saw LGCC Under-13s home for victory by virtue of losing fewer wickets when their game at Kings Langley ended with both sides having scored 107 runs apiece.

It was a thrilling finish for both teams, with man-of-the-moment Oli holding his nerve to help engineer nine runs from the game's final over and end up with 28 not out - tied for the innings' top score with opener Ben Humphreys.

Oli and Salman Saleem put on an unbeaten 60 for the fourth wicket, coming together as they did in the 12th over after Ben had unluckily played on to his own stumps.

Much earlier in the evening, before the late drama, the wicket-taking was shared around with six different bowlers claiming a dismissal apiece - three of which thanks to the safe hands of Geraint Yates in the field.

Tom Rumble did a tidy job behind the stumps; tider than Levy's bowlers, who sent down 17 wides and three no-balls to help the hosts post a target of 107-6 from their 20 overs.

Left-arm seamer George Sharman was the pick of the Green attack once again, following up his accurate bowling from the night before for the Under-12s to record figures of 1-6 from his two overs.

Green didn't look favourites for the victory with 60 runs required from the final eight overs, but skipper Oli chose the perfect time to put together his best knock in several summers to steer his side home to a third win of 2018 with two league games left to play.
