Match report A THRILLING Under-11s match on The Green between hosts Leverstock Green and Boxmoor fell the way of the hosts by a solitary run - at the end of game which always suggested a nip & tuck finish was likely.

A mix of abilities were on display, all eagerly looking to develop their cricketing skills, with players from both sides providing some really excellent moments of quality.

By far the best fielding effort was an incredible low catch taken by Boxmoor skipper Tom Webb at point. From a Levy point of view, Josh Hooper took a smart catch on his debut as wicketkeeper.

Josh also hit the shot of the night, pulling firmly through square for the second of two boundaries that he hit, while Zain Hussain top-scored for the Green with 10.

Shrey Mehta batted diligently with James Fennessy at the end of the innings as Levy edged past Moor during the final over.

Earlier in the match, Boxmoor set a target of 258; Jonathan Hobbs showed real promise durinh his innings.

Shrey Mehta's two wickets and a dismissal for Levy debutant Matthew Treadaway were the pick of the bowling highlights as the hosts generally fared well in the field.

Congratulations to all those who took part in a contest played in excellent spirit, leaving both sides looking forward to the return fixture.
