Match report THERE are some consistent themes of development coming through from this LGCC Under-11 group now, with plenty of those on display as they enjoyed a 23-run win at Boxmoor on a lovely summer's evening at The Oval.

This was the second of two good-natured games between the sides, and players from both sides had clearly improved their skills from a close early-season meeting at The Green.

The U11s star all-rounder spot is up for grabs right now, it would seem, with both Josh Hooper (14 not out) and Zain Hussain (13 not out) also bowing with steady accuracy.

Zain takes the Player of the Match gong once again, though. His three overs for 10 runs, including a wicket from the game's first ball, showed how far his bowling has come on. Later in the game, his trademark low pull shot earned him three boundaries, although Josh's innings was more spectacular - containing as it did two fours and a six over mid-wicket! Proof of his learning came in the second over he faced, when he defended six good balls rather than going for some more expansive shots.

Considering where they were as beginners in April, both Charlie Veragoo and Mattthew Treadaway can be proud of their progress. This was Matthew's best game with the ball so far, his three overs costing just 12 runs.

Mason Hannibal took a fine caught & bowled to return figures of 2-0-6-1 while captain Shrey Mehta continues to set high standards with the ball. One wicket for two runs was his two-over analysis.

Batting and calling is an area for the U11s to continue to work on, but a little uncertainty in early overs was washed away with the arrival at the crease of Josh.

Zain and James Fennessy - who made a useful 10 runs - continued the momentum, which allowed Shrey & Charlie to complete the innings with some sensible shots as LGCC chalked up another welcome win.
