Match report HEARTS were in mouths all round at Broxbourne III as Mike Parkes' Leverstock Green 3s were taken to within one maximum blow of defeat - but emerged four-run victors thanks to Sam Roberts' seven for 83 after posting what should have been an insufficient target of only 167 all out.
Neil Fleming top-scored for Green with 37, however only opener Chris Murton (22) got past the 20-run mark as batsmen got themselves in then out again on a small ground when a more challenging total looked necessary.
However Broxbourne didn't reckon with medium-pace swing bowler Roberts who bowled nearly 25 overs in harvesting a match-winning seven-for.
Graham Evans bowled beautifully to keep the other end tight, his left-arm spinners earning two for 35 from 20 overs.
With only five needed to win, Roberts trapped the final victim leg before in the 55th over of the home side's innings.
