AT 60 without loss – chasing Leverstock Green IV’s 87 all out – Redbourn third XI looked the only possible winner. But amazingly, Green 4s took all 10 of their host’s wickets for the cost of just 17 runs.
Last week, Dave Cardy’s side defended 91 at Cockfosters IV. This time, Cardy’s six for 12 from eight overs beat his previous efforts but just as key was an excellent three for 17 harvested in six overs by teenager Oli Sawyer. Remarkably, Redbourn opener J???? Pritchard was left stranded on six not out as wickets fell around him.
Twenty-two apiece from Mike Roberts and Ben Roberts had helped Levy to crawl to 87 earlier in a topsy-turvy day.
