Match report If your not whistling the tune from The Great Escape , you should be. With the final game to be played this Saturday (let`s hope the weather stays fine)at Watford Town, only a win will do. We are then also reliant that 2 others from St Margs;St Albans WI and Welwyn Garden City do not win. Back to Preston game.

Once again we bowled very well with Majid & Mazza leading the way. Both have taken decent amount of wickets in the last 4 games. Backed by spinners Koch & Tyson , we have a varied and well balanced attack, when C-dog and Adam are fit and available we probably have one of the best attacks in the league. However, if we drop catches (6 against Preston) then their efforts are wasted, so we best make sure we turn up with our hands ready for action. Having kept Preston to a well below par score of 150, the Green set off with style and patience as Local 46 and Koch 40 batted well and established a partnership of 99. Now this is the part were it can go wrong, namely the middle order collapse as seen several times this season. From 99-0 we managed to find ourselves 140-8 a position that never ever should have happened. Preston could not believe their luck or as several players commented - "what the hell are you lot doing" justifiably summed up that situation. We had managed to lose 8 wickets for 40 runs ,not a stat that makes good reading but you now begin to realise why we are in this current situation. Luckily we saw off the remaining 12 runs required due to having 61 overs to face and plenty of TIME. So , once again the message is be selfish when batting as you can`t score runs in the changing room.
