Match report LGCC Under-15s won for the third time this summer; another low-scoring victory at The Green on the original sticky wicket - after heavy rain in the days leading up to the match.

Salman Saleem and Callum Pillay were the pick of the bowlers, each conceding just five runs from their three overs and picking up two wickets and one wicket respectively.

Combined with a trio of parsimonious overs from George Sharman at the start of the Abbots Langley innings, having been asked to bat first, the visitors never really found any momentum to their scoring and closed on 81-6 which looked a little below what might be required - despite the tricky batting conditions.

Green also lost early wickets with openers Gez Yates and George Sharman both departing for two runs apiece. But then some customary clean striking from Pillay (17) preceded a stabilising partnership between No. 5 Sharman and No. 6 Saleem.

When Lewis Cooper arrived at the crease after Saleem offered cover a simple catch, he freed his arms to hit a handy 11 and put Levy within sight of the finishing line.

They didn't race there, however, using up all but 13 of the available deliveries to pass Abbots' target; and it was ALCC's star batsman Gino who - having earlier retired not out on 30 - fizzed a beamer over LGCC skipper Harry Walker's head for what proved to the winning extras.
