Match report LEVERSTOCK GREEN CC lifted the ADEX Interiors Heath Park Cup for the second time - after a fourth final in the competition since its inception in 2013 as the replacement for The Gazette Cup.

In fact, it was opponents Abbots Langley who won the local T20 showpiece with a six from the game's final ball eight years ago, and it took Levy a further three years - a 2016 win over Dingwall - to get their own hands on the trophy.

Unlike that first final meeting, however, this one was never in similar doubt and although Green's run chase came within three balls of the end of the tie, they always seemed in control of the required run rate thanks to a superb 66 from 'Man of the Match' Sol Tomlinson.

Opening with Cole Seggery, the pair put on 66 for a first wicket stand which was only broken in the 11th over. Charlie Mahanama then joined Tomlinson at the crease - and this free-scoring duo parted with the score on 99; so just 17 more runs to win from four overs or so at that point.

The Sri Lankan finished the game in style with a maximum to end up unbeaten on 34.

Earlier, having won the toss, Abbots got off to a steady start and it took the tight lines of seamers Troy Henry and Adam Thomas to really peg back the run-rate.

Henry went for 22 runs and Thomas just 20 from their respective five-over spells as Abbots ended up with a total of just less than a run-a-ball.
