Match report LEVERSTOCK GREEN CC chased down Northchurch's imposing target of 205 with more than two overs to spare to claim the Dacorum Super League title for 2026.

They follow inaugural 2025 winners Tring Park CC onto the winner's shield after a high-quality winner-takes-all last game of the DSL Phase 2 group at Church's picturesque setting The Meadow on a sunny early August evening.

Long-time LGCC opening bat Sol Tomlinson will hope the form he found against a mixture of the host's pace and spin attack might carry into forthcoming Herts League matches. He dispatched the ball to all parts en route to a boundary-laden 77; putting on 111 for the first wicket with Jayden Dowlin, whose valuable 43 also helped set the tone for a chase during which Green never feel behind the steepling 10-an-over asking rate.

And any Church hopes of reining in Levy's batters were dashed by No. 4 Sam Revell, who hit his first ball for six on his way to a victory-defining 44 not out which contained five maximums - making the most of the short boundary on an excellent batting deck at The Meadow.

Earlier, the host's skipper Tom Garraway - who'd elected to bat first having won the toss - led the way with 42 before being caught one-handed by diving wicketkeeper Rich Walker off the bowling of Sulaimaan Manzoor.

Only Dowlin's off-spin with figures of 4-0-28-2 showed any sign of keeping a lid on Northchurch's total, which zoomed along thanks to 71 from opener George Liveing and brisk contributions from Shiv Bist (28) and Jack Randall (20) towards the end of an innings which ended on 205 for six.

Concerns over fading light, given the re-arranged early August date, were allayed by the efficiency of Green's chase with the match ending just before twilight really started to take a hold.

LGCC now have a chance to complete a league & cup double when they play in DSL Cup Finals Day at Kings Langley CC on Bank Holiday Monday August 31 (more details soon).
