WHILE the professionals prepare for the real thing later this summer, it's high time for another LGCC Ryder Cup.

The LGCC version will take place at Mid-Herts Golf Club, Wheathampstead, on Friday May 27, with a 12.30pm meet time for a 1.30pm start.

Mark Pearson and Mr LGCC - that's Dave Tyson, of course - are the two cricketers organising this particular event, which will see two teams of budding golfers set to do battle in the Ryder Cup format of four-ball better ball (where the best score wins the hole for its team).

There'll be prizes for the winning team plus 'Nearest The Pin' and 'Longest Drive' awards as well.

The Facebook page 'Levy Green CC Players & Supporters' - where all members are welcome to join - has been signing up participants already, so there are only a few places left.

It's bacon rolls on arrival and a one-course meal after play, with the whole day coming in at a bargain £35 per player.
