A CONVINCING win kicked off the newly-formed joint team of LGCC & St. Albans West Indian CC in style.

Chaseville were beaten by nine wickets as players from the two neighbouring clubs came together to start the Chess Valley Sunday League Division Six campaign with a straightforward win.

Lenny Walker's 5-12 and Ritchie Carruthers, with 3-17, helped reduce the visitors to first 11-6 and then 39 all out. Wicketkeeper Harvey Henry snapped up four catches as no batsman from the Southgate-based club made it into double-figures.

Nick Davies led the chase with 18 not out, only Sol Tomlinson (17) losing his wicket as the runs were knocked off in 7.3 overs.
