LEVERSTOCK GREEN lifted the Heath Park Cup after victory over Dingwall - the first time the club has ever won the Hemel-based T20 knockout (formerly The Gazette Cup).
A controlled performance saw Green post 130 all out from their 20 overs at Heath Park, home of Hemel Town CC, against Dingwall - a strong team formed of Berkhamsted School ex-staff and pupils.
Sol Tomlinson was named 'Man of the Match' after a brisk 24 at the start of the Levy innings and two wickets for 24 runs from five excellent overs at the start of Dingwall's reply.
Nick Merrett, with 22, and 21 from skipper Dayle Littlejohn ensured the opposition would have to score at better than a run-a-ball to eclipse Levy's target.
After losing partners regularly, the game hinged on the wicket of Sam Masters who - having reached 44 and been dropped in doing so - finally holed out when Tomlinson took a skier at deep square leg off the bowling of Adam Thomas.
The run rate crept up as Dingwall wickets continued to fall, and Green forced a 10-per-over rate as the final neared its end.
One or two late blows wasn't enough for the Berko-based side as LGCC closed the game out to win the Heath Park Cup by eight runs.
