LEVERSTOCK GREEN fell just short of bringing up the remarkable feat of winning both midweek cup competitions in the same summer after West Herts won The Watford Observer Fourteen14 Shield with an over to spare at Chipperfield Clarendon CC.

Green's seemingly under-par 92 ended up proving a competitive target, as they took key Stags wickets - until a late blast from Craig Saunders sealed the tie in the oppositions' favour.
