THOSE who were lucky enough to play Sunday cricket with friends from St. Albans West Indian CC last season will know why LGCC is delighted to confirm the partnership for this coming summer.

After players requesting a tougher challenge, LGCC & SAWICC secured a spot in Chess Valley League Division Three - three divisions up from 2016's runners-up finish in Division Six.

If you're a Levy Green cricketer who's yet to turn out for the joint team, participation comes thoroughly recommended - with a fine Sunday mix of cricket, caribbean food and some post-match dominoes and rum often on the agenda.

Thanks especially to SAWICC's Fitzroy Stapleton and Harvey & Holly Henry, the driving forces behind the success of the partnership.

The team will once again by led by SAWICC's Lenny Walker, with back-up to the skipper provided by Green Club Captain Richard Walker.

In the meantime, SAWICC are holding a pre-season fundraiser at their Greenwood Park Saturday home venue.

Tickets are £10 per person for an evening of dance and partying on Saturday February 25, from 7pm until late.
