GRAHAM EVANS - one half of LGCC's very own Chuckle Brothers - helped Green 4s make light work of their Abbots Langley counterparts to record the only victory of Herts League Matchweek 3.
Evans' unbeaten 58, coupled with 27 from teenager Aryan Tomar, saw off all but the loose change as Levy chased down Abbots' target of 100 for the loss of just a single wicket.
Earlier in the rain-reduced 30-over match, Kaleem Saleem took two wickets with his leg spin while the standout performance with the ball came from Hasan Ali, whose four overs went for just four runs in total.
LEWIS KOCH'S 58 atop the batting order for Levy 1st XI went to waste as Green - hosting Broxbourne - could post only 169-7 from their 45 overs, on albeit what was a wicket which dried out for batting as the afternoon progressed.
Kris Jadeja (26) and Sol Tomlinson (23) both got starts, but neither they nor other Green batsmen pushed on to help create a truly challenging target.
Although Broxbourne secured victory with four overs in hand, it was at the cost of eight wickets as a game which threatened to turn in the host's favour was clawed back by Chris Sargent's unbeaten 33.
Majid Khan, with 3-23, and Sol Tomlinson were the only two Levy bowlers to exert control by economy rate as Broxbourne won to make it three straight bat-first defeats for the 1st XI.
A LATE-ORDER stand for Old Haberdashers ended up proving the difference between a successful run chase and LGCC 2nd XI's first defeat of summer 2017.
Habs reached 167-9 from a rain-reduced 42 overs, but it could've been a lot less had other bowlers followed the lead of spin duo Dave Tyson (3-26) and Nahim Iqbal (3-33).
Green's top order failed to perform during the run chase, and it was left to No. 7 Kash Shakoor - with a fine 50 - to rescue any chance of victory.
But wickets fell too regularly to truly contemplate reaching 168, with Green removed for 108.

Green 3rd XI fell foul of the midweek rainfall, with their home fixture at Parmiter's School against Abbots Langley III postponed 24 hours before matchday.
