JULY 28 saw LGCC President Brian Coulshed strode through a guard of honour to mark his 40th and final Cricket Week appearance.

It was the Friday of Cricket Week which provided the backdrop for Brian's farewell innings - and this was fitting given that was the day of the LGCC Past XI v LGCC Present XI.

 Players from now and yesteryear warmly applauded the club's long-serving President, who also announced his intention to retire from cricket completely at the end of summer 2017.

Cricket Week is a Leverstock Green CC institution and it once again went beyond the boundary in terms of engaging with the whole club community - defying the often showery weather to serve up exciting cricket and some memorable evening moments too.

Teenager Will 'Royal' Rumble fought off the competition to be crowned 'King of the Green' at the end of Wednesday's LGCC-style Bushtucker trial.

Greats from Watford Town CC and Hemel Town CC used the Tuesday and Wednesday of Cricket Week respectively as a chance for reunions, with LGCC's clubhouse the perfect setting for reminiscing after an afternoon's cricket.

Monday's President's game and Thursday's Caribbean Day provided the annual Cricket Week staples, with Friday's visit of ex-LGCC players warmly welcomed by those watching on during the match and then in a packed clubhouse long into the night.

Thanks to all those who played a part in making Cricket Week at LGCC come alive once more; and special tribute to Cricket Week Manager Mike Parkes for his herculean efforts in keeping all the days buzzing despite the rain.
